The Ford Explorer is a mid-size three-row SUV that has faithfully served its drivers and their families for over 30 years. Not much has changed in the 2023 model year. Buyers can still look forward to a powerful engine, a fantastic array of standard safety features, and enormous cargo and passenger space with a few attractive tweaks here and there.
Most notably, the 2023 version is slightly longer, has a larger grille, a more prominent exhaust, and a very impressive 68.58cm infotainment touchscreen. Ford hasn’t yet released the exact pricing for the 2023 Explorer. However, we anticipate that the starting price should be around the upper $40,000 and a bit higher than the current starting price of the 2022 Ford Explorer.
The 2023 model will be available in the EcoBoost 10-speed automatic 2.3-litre engine or the EcoBoost 3.0-litre engine. Driving the 2.3-litre will give you 325 pound-feet of torque and 300 horsepower, and the expected fuel efficiency driving in normal conditions is 11.7L/100km in the city and 10.7L/100km on the highway.
The 3.0-litre is capable of 440 pound-feet of torque and 418 horsepower. Depending on which model you purchase, you’ll also have the option to upgrade to the hybrid V6 3.3-litre drivetrain.
